- The Boston chapter of the Baseball Writers of America named Alfredo Aceves as the 2011 Boston Red Sox pitcher of the year. When was the last time that award went to a long reliever?
- Ellsbury and the Red Sox have agreed to a one-year, $8.05 million deal. And, Salty got a one-year, $2.5 million deal.
- Negotiations with Big Papi aren't going quite as well, and will probably end up in arbitration.
- The Sox tried to trade Scutaro to the Rockies. It didn't work out. Update: And then it did.
- It is now up to Bud Selig to decide what the Sox will get in exchange for letting Theo go.
